Andrea's reading for dachshund Fred
By Courtney, for her Dachshund FredCan you please ask our dear Fred what I can do to make him more comfortable in the car and when we go places? And why he's such a freak about jumping up on top of things? And why he hates his feet touched? Ok why he's just a loveable goober in general!?! Some of your questions are kinda obvious. Dogs aren't as complex as we think they are. Why does Fred jump on top of things? To see what's up there, what the big dogs see. He's used to that view, he tells me he was a Dane before a doxie and misses the view. When I looked at his picture and ask if it's ok to talk and ask a few questions, he sounds like "well sure!" and laughs. He says he's always slept in the bed and belongs there. He was so sad before he got back to you.
The car goes too fast, upsets his tummy. Asks to drive slower. I told him you can't quite do that safely...as to what you can do to make it easier, I'll have to get back to you...I wanted to say try singing.... As for being a lovable goob....I seriously get that he's been loved by you before. Feet being touched tickles. Just like some people, dogs can be ultra sensitive to being touched on the feet.
You are seriously so awesome Andrea!!!! If Fred wants to talk to you more I'd love to know more - how he came to love balls/fetch so much, his relationship with Adam, and what his life was like before. Can they tell you how old they are? Wow, also, you say he was here before - that's just crazy....he is a TOTALLY different dog than he was when we first got him. At first he was a real loner and would just go sit off by himself all the time. Very independent - he still is independent and doesn't really ever pay attention to the fosters, but likes to play with Po and Thor and snuggle with them and us too. THANK YOU!!
